A very brief history…

I was born September 11, 1953 at 11:04 PM in Salt Lake City, Utah, USA. I was a normal kid till I experienced a “vision” at school in the third grade, which convinced me I was “special” and would become “as famous as George Washington” by doing something cool like “inventing antigravity or something.” I stopped taking orders from adults, became a juvenile delinquent, got in fights constantly and was thrown out of 3 different middle schools. I was headed for a life in prison. An act of kindness I didn’t deserve turned my life around 180 degrees when I was 14.
At 17 I became interested in astrology, metaphysics and psychic phenomena. Over the next few years I experienced telepathy, traveled out of body, had lucid dreams, performed telekinesis, etc.. That’s when I discovered/invented the visual telepathy exercise. (See the Rational Spirituality book.)
By the time I had reached 20-years-old I had become suicidally depressed by the realization that we are all slaves to making money. I was just moments away from killing myself when an experience of actual “divine intervention” occurred. It was an event that convinced me to become a professional musician. Not long after that I came up with the concept for Audio Animation, a theoretical method that uses computer processed sound to create animated, 3-dimensional “sound shapes” or “pictures you see with your ears.” In 1984 the details were published in MIX magazine and I moved to LA to see if I could find financing, but failed.
I wrote songs on acoustic guitar, and played bass in a 3-piece hard rock band called Warklear Newhead for 5 years, but we never played live. My son was born in 1977. Beginning in 1988 I went back to college for 3 years and lived in a music studio I built in the barn behind my father’s house.
In 1991 I met Darren Weight, a 19-year-old keyboardist. For the next 7 years we wrote all kinds of music in lots of different genres, till he left to manage a dance club. I collected our best “spacey” music and released the album “Head” under the band name Psychic Trance Fur. I have since released other spacey songs I did under that name. We never played live because we couldn’t find a drummer willing to listen to a click track so we could play in sync with the synthesizers.
I then spent 5 years working full time writing the Rational Spirituality book, then eventually self published 4 other books.
Forty years ago I experienced an actual “vision.” I had just gotten out of bed and while standing in the darkened room I could see half a dozen “golden balls” moving in a spiral pattern as they rotated in a horizontal circle. That was a week after I had started to wonder what sort of mechanism could power UFOs - if they exist. I became convinced that I was actually meant to discover antigravity like I had thought in the third grade. I have since invested over 10,000 hours trying to find a way to make inertial propulsion possible.
I lived on the big island of Hawaii on 2 acres of tropical rainforest for 5 years, then in 2018 I moved back to Salt Lake City. Three years ago I sold everything and converted a large, high-roof Sprinter van into a camper and have been doing the van life since then, traveling around the western US. There are pros and cons to van life, and I am beginning to conclude that ideally it would be best to have both a van and a home base… I need a shop to build my “antigravity” test unit, and life is better when you can spend time with the same close friends.
That’s my basic story, minus a million important details that made me who I am. It has been an unusual life, but then again even the so called average life contains “the most dramatic events of one’s life.” I hope you found my story worth reading. Feel free to get in touch if you’d like :)
